LICAF – Lost in Translation
The Brief:
University of Cumbria is partnered with the LICAF (Lakes International Comic Arts Fair) and every year, the illustrators have put together comics from song lyrics, or otherwise, and every one of them gets a page to show off their skills. This year, graphics wanted a bit of that action. Every graphics student was tasked with creating a 'typographic comic;' showing a series of typographic images, and to be produced by hand.

The Concept:
I was inspired by old Letrasets, and letters on sheets being scribbled off onto pages, but I could not get hold of any very easily. I decided to work with laser-cut vinyl letters instead, and added a few cues to how Letrasets were used instead. The rough bits of paper fit together to create panels, with duct tape holding it together.
